SEOUL, July 3 Asia Pulse - South Korea's Ministry of Justice plans to implement a law revision aimed at allowing widows and widowers to inherit half of their late spouse's property regardless of the number of children also eligible for inheritance, ministry officials said Sunday.

The move mainly comes as part of the government's efforts to improve the economic status of women, according to the officials.

"We believe the revision would significantly strengthen the economic status of women, who have been relatively weak financially, once it goes into effect," an official from the Justice Ministry said.
