SYDNEY, July 3 Asia Pulse - The boss of Australia's largest steel maker BlueScope Steel (ASX:BSL) says the phenomenal growth in the Chinese steel industry over the past 15 years is a "once in a lifetime" event.
BlueScope Steel chief executive Kirby Adams says the local market has to adjust to the fact that growth of the steel industry in China will not be as strong as the past decade and a half.
"What we have just lived through in the last 15 years with the Chinese steel industry growing from less than 100 million tonnes of production to now projected over 400 million tonnes of production - an increase in that period of time of four-fold - was really a once in a lifetime kind of event," Mr Adams told the Nine Network.
