As thisAdam and Eve piece confirms, there's a lot more to Louis le Brocquy than his iconic head portraits of the likes of Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, Seamus Heaney and, in more recent times, Bono.
While his former friend Beckett may be celebrating his centenary this year, Le Brocquy has a rather important birthday himself, with 90 candles to blow out on his cake. And Limerick's Hunt Museum ( www.huntmuseum.com) is marking this event with a major exhibition entitledAllegory and Legend. On display until the end of September, this features work from across his career and seeks to capture the artist's perspectives of the past.
