NO credit union is threatened with closure, according to the Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU).
This comes despite reports that the financial regulator has contacted a number of credit unions over their levels of bad debts.
"There are no credit unions in trouble," said Liam O'Dwyer, chief executive of ILCU.
"The regulator was quite clear about that . . . All of these credit unions will still be returning a surplus this year and will still be performing quite well."
