Jun. 30--The Texas fireworks industry's attempts to lift bans on Fourth of July pyrotechnics are blowing up in its face. Within the past two days, judges in state and federal courts have refused to lift bans on the sale of fireworks that were imposed by county officials out of concern that the fireworks might ignite dangerous wildfires. But fireworks dealers continue to file similar lawsuits, including one in Parker County where a 1:30 p.m. hearing was scheduled Friday on a request to block the county's fireworks ban. American Promotional Events Inc. doing business as TNT Fireworks, filed the lawsuit late Thursday against Parker County Judge Mark Riley and county commissioners Danny Choate, Joe Brinkley, John Roth and Jim Webster, contending they exceeded their authority under state law when they declared a disaster June 12...
