Jun. 30--This may be one corporate battle that benefits all of us: Commerce Bank claims its world-class fireworks show by Grucci tomorrow night at Eisenhower Park is the biggest on Long Island all summer. But the annual Independence Day spectacular at Jones Beach from Bay Fireworks also promises world-class pyrotechnics - and world-class crowds. No matter who snags the pyro bragging rights, Long Islanders will be the winners as spectators get to bask in the glow of rocket trails and exploding shells - and not just at the two big shows mentioned above. State, town and village governments, businesses and malls, sporting arenas from Flushing to Central Islip to Riverhead, and area nonprofit groups, ranging from a summer camp for physically challenged kids to a local Lions Club, take advantage of this long July Fourth weekend to celebrate the nation's birth with live entertainment, music, carnivals, food and - yes - the traditional fireworks.
