Jun. 30--DALLAS -- Twenty-two cranes dot the cityscape in the Uptown and downtown districts. At the epicenter of the construction boom rippling through the area is the $3 billion Victory Park project. The 75-acre development is one of the most "fast-paced and ambitious urban redevelopments in the nation -- the biggest in Dallas since the Fair Park development in the 1930s," said Phillip Jones, chief executive of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau. "Victory Park is already having an effect on surrounding districts like West End and Uptown, even the arts district. In the next decade, Dallas will become an exciting leisure destination city."
