Those are the stories of our illustrious Latina leaders. We hope that this issue has proved inspirational, whether you are a mother, a father, a homemaker, a business owner, or any other incarnation of a powerful Latino leader.

Despite each woman's unique family background, business style, personal priorities and feelings about Hispanidad, they all share the common denominator of perseverance. They simply do not believe in failure. Most of these women have suffered downfalls, and each time they got right back up.

It is valuable to recognize that in nearly every case, someone stood behind the leader. Parents put mortgages on the line; supervisors found replacements for work shifts or company events; husbands even went to Girl Scout meetings. Without these mentors, families, spouses and children, we would not have these and other leaders to honor today, and so we honor them …
