The prestigious science magazine Nature recently published the Human Genome Project's sequencing of the last unknown human chromosome. Gathering genetic information raises important ethical issues of privacy, confidentiality, and inappropriate commercialization. However, these problems can be eliminated by careful stewardship of the information and thoughtful decisions on the part of scientists.
