A week ago in this space, Dave D'Alessandro provided evenhanded perspective about the playoff elimination of the Spurs, one of last year's NBA finalists.
He said the sky was not falling for the defending champion--that with a better playoff draw, a couple of bounces and one more point in regulation of Game 7 against the Mavericks, a repeat title was more than plausible.
