MY BIOGRAPHY of my father, Steadfast Knight." A Life of Sir Hal Colebatch (Fremantle Arts Centre Press, 2004), received favourable reviews in a spread of journals, including the Australian, Quadrant, the West Australian and even the Australian Book Review. The exception was a review by one Rob Darroch in the Journal of the Royal Australian Historical Society. I am not in the habit of commenting on reviews of my books. However Mr Darroch's effort was so generally bizarre and false as to merit some attention.
Googling reveals Mr Darroch to be vice-president of the D.H. Lawrence Society of Australia. This, I gather, is the reason for the obsession with "secret ...
