Notts must win two of their next three County Championship games to stand any chance of retaining their title.
That is the verdict of director of cricket Mick Newell, who takes his side to Shane Warne-led Hampshire tomorrow still looking for a first win of the season in the competition.
So far Notts have accumulated 34 points from five games in an opening to the season that has been heavily interrupted by rain.
Newell knows that means his troops have to start picking up the points, sooner rather than later, if they are to catch the likes of leaders Sussex and second-placed Hampshire at the top.
