Andrew Flintoff's injured left ankle will dominate England's thoughts today as they prepare to move on from the disappointment of their final-Test defeat against Sri Lanka.

It was the irresistible force of Muttiah Muralitharan's world-beating off-spin which did for England on the fourth day at Trent Bridge, where his eight for 70 made a mockery of home hopes for a record run chase.

Instead, England were bowled out for 190 in their second innings to go down by 134 runs as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw in a series most expected them to win with ease.
