NEW YORK -- The majority of employees (81%) who have experienced a major life event* in the last 18 months own life insurance, yet only half (51%) think the amount of coverage they have is adequate, according to a recent survey conducted by MetLife. More than one-quarter (26%) of this group report owning less than three times their annual household salary in coverage which can be seriously underinsured given their new financial situations.
