Perricone promise to boost skin's moisture level and fight free radicals. "They contain things not found in most daily vitamins, like fatty acids and alpha lipoic acid, plus all of the usual nutrients in higher concentrations," says Carol Haggans of the National Institutes of Health. Plantidote Mega-Mushroom Supplement from Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins is an organic liquid that Weil believes will quell the low-grade inflammation that contributes to skin sensitivity. "Ingested supplements may benefit the skin," says dermatologist Leslie Baumann. "But more studies need to be done to determine which ingredients have the most significant effects." -MARGARET LEE
