The House Committee on Energy and Commerce rejected a bid April 26 to include strong network neutrality protections in a telecommunications reform bill that is slated for a vote in the House in May.
The committee approved the Communications Opportunity, Promotion, and Enhancement Act of 2006, which focuses mostly on requirements that telephone companies will face as they attempt to compete with cable companies in the residential video market.
