PENANG, June 1 Asia Pulse - Penang, a northern state in Penisular Malaysia is looking forward to more tourists from Japan when Haneda airport in Kanagawa Prefecture turns international in 2009, Penang Chief Minister Dr Koh Tsu Koon said Wednesday.

He said the state government would consider offering a special package for the Japanese to choose Penang as their long-stay vacation destination.

The state government, through the Tourism Action Council, would aggressively promote Penang under a second-home programme in Kanagawa soon, he told reporters after signing the Joint Statement for the Further Development of Goodwill Exchanges between Penang and Kanagawa, here.
