Taiwan's ruling party will face opposition challengers in the country's High Court Friday as the legal battle contesting President Chen Shui-bian's narrow election victory gets underway.
High Court spokeswoman Wen Yao-yuan Wednesday said plaintiffs and defendants, including Chen and opposition Kuomintang (KMT) chief Lien Chen -- separated by just 30,000 votes in the March 20 polls, had been told to attend.
"The two sides will meet to discuss the scope of a (requested) vote recount, expenses involved and other details," Wen said....
