Taiwan's opposition prepared to launch a second legal bid to contest President Chen Shui-bian's narrow election victory in an ongoing legal battle, as Chen stepped up his pro-independence rhetoric.
"We are preparing legal documents to sue the Central Election Commission (CEC) for holding the referendum alongside the March 20 presidential election in violation of the referendum law," said Chou Shou-shun, a spokesman of the main opposition Kuomintang (KMT).
