May 31--Lastings Milledge will have plenty of time for heroics. He is 21, and according to just about everyone who's seen him him play, he's going to have a monster career with the Mets. The expectations and the projections are half the fun. So while Milledge entered the clubhouse and officially became a Mets' big leaguer at 6:02 last night, it's never too late to talk about the potential everyone sees in him.
"He's everything you'd want in a young outfield prospect," one American League scout who knows Milledge well said yesterday. "This is a great day for the Mets, the Wilpons, Omar and all Mets fans. Lastings Milledge is exciting, he's electrifying, and he's a five-tool guy."
