May 31--The lights dimmed in the ballroom of a Buffalo hotel. On a screen next to the stage, the words appeared: "Bring some passion back to Albany." Then, to the cheers of hundreds at the state Democratic convention, Eliot Spitzer strode to the rostrum yesterday to accept his party's unanimous nomination for governor.
