MANILA, May 31 Asia Pulse - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the Cabinet on Tuesday declared the retirement industry a flagship project and named a retirement czar to spearhead the sector's growth.
The meeting also finetuned programs for 400,000 hectares of new cultivation, for backyard farms to augment food sources of hunger-prone communities, and for flood mitigation in disaster-prone river basins in the country - key items in a broad agenda to review and accelerate measures addressing hunger, poverty and calamity.
