SYDNEY, June 1 Asia Pulse - The Australian share market has opened higher on a positive lead from Wall Street, with corporate activity also boosting investor sentiment.
At 1016 AEST the S&P/ASX200 was up 53.8 points to 5055.5 while the all ordinaries rose 51.5 points to 5023.8.
On the Sydney Futures Exchange the June share price index contract gained 47 points to 5054.
Aequs Securities institutional dealer Ric Klusman said several factors including the US lead-in and fresh corporate activity, such as gaming company Tabcorp's counter-bid for Unitab, had kick started the bourse.
