NEW DELHI, June 1 Asia Pulse - Chinese mobile handset maker Haier on Wednesday said it was considering setting up a manufacturing unit in India in the next 18-24 months.
"Our target is to achieve a sales of 5 million handsets in India, in another 18-24 months. If we achieve this target, then we would consider setting up a manufacturing unit here in India," Haier Telecom India Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Arun Khanna told reporters here.
However, at present the plan has not been finalised, he said.
The company had set a turnover target of US$300 million in the first phase and had already executed orders worth US$50 million, Khanna said.
