Early on Sunday, March 26, 60-year-old Mario Vigil got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill her grandson out of spite.
Later that day, according to the Craig (Colorado) Daily Press, Vigil tried to make good on that threat. Armed with a rifle, he broke into the home of Josh Jackson, the son of his former girlfriend. Jackson grabbed a shotgun and shot Vigil once in the chest before taking his nine-year-old son and hiding in a locked bedroom.
But being wounded did not deter Vigil; he tried to break through the bedroom door, and he fired shots ...
