Americans are becoming more spiritual. But their acceptance of religious diversity doesn't extend to those who don't believe in the existence of God at all, atheists.
In fact, most Americans see atheists as a great threat to the American way of life--more so than Muslims, recent immigrants, lesbians and gays and other minorities. Atheists are the most distrusted minority.
