Leave it to Larry Brown to be rewarded for a job not well done. After coaching the Knicks to the worst record in the Eastern Conference, there were rumblings in New York last weekend that the team was ready to give Brown in the neighborhood of $40 million to walk away from the last four years of his five-year deal. Brown apparently was not unhappy; he was thought to be asking only that the Knicks move quickly so he could have a chance at landing the Kings' job. If anyone would be willing to bring in a big name such as Brown, it would be the publicity-hound Maloof brothers.
