As owners of the league's worst record, the Trail Blazers have the best chance of winning the No. 1 pick, but the Bulls already are assured of being big winners. That's because they obtained the Knicks' first-round pick in the Eddy Curry trade last summer and the Knicks finished with the second-worst record in the league. So the Bulls have the second-best chance of winning the lottery, 19.9 percent to the Blazers' 25 percent.
History--and 3:1 odds--says the Blazers won't wind up with the first pick. The team with the worst record has won the No. 1 pick only three times since 1990. The Blazers also have more than their share of young projects already, and coach Nate McMillan has told reporters he'd consider trading the No. 1 pick.
