A Minnesota high school senior whose SAT was incorrectly scored is suing the College Board, which oversees the exam and its testing firm, Pearson Educational Measurement.
The lawsuit is the first since an admission that 4,411 students received incorrectly lower scores and 613 got better scores than they deserved from the October 2005 test. In a written statement, the College Board said that it learned in March that Pearson had not "fully evaluated" 27,000 of the 495,000 exams from October. The College Board said that the errors were at least partially due to "abnormally high moisture content" in some of the answer sheets.
