TALLEVAST -- A man shot at a newspaper deliveryman's car early Saturday, striking the rear of the carrier's 1993 Ford Escort three times, authorities said.
The deliveryman, Bradenton resident Alfred Gilchrist, 50, wasn't injured.
One person was arrested in connection to the 5:30 a.m. shooting on Tallevast Road after sheriff's deputies chased the suspect's vehicle.
Gilchrist said the shooting happened seconds after a man confronted him on a dead-end dirt road in Tallevast, a small community off U.S. 301 east of the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport.
