May 20--As David Wright's drive to centerfield kept climbing, chasing Johnny Damon deeper and deeper until he finally could only watch the ball drop to the warning track and the Yankees' hopes along with it, the most relieved man in the ballpark might just have been Randy Johnson.
After all, considering the ninth-inning fireworks Wright produced off Mariano Rivera to give the Mets a dramatic 7-6 victory over the Yankees at Shea Stadium, who would remember that once again, Johnson had pitched horribly, perhaps worse than he has in what is rapidly becoming for him a nightmare of a season?
