It's simple mathematics, people: Not everyone is going to make it big.
Forty-eight underclassmen skipped their final years of eligibility to enter the NFL draft and pull on that shiny slot handle. Of that group, 15 weren't drafted and 10 were second-day picks (fourth round or lower). In other words, 52 percent of the 2006 early entrants are going to have a hell of a time even making an NFL roster.
Failure, apparently, is an option.
Now it's time for the NCAA to step in and save these fools from themselves--just as college sports' governing body did for men's basketball players way back in 1994.
