This carefully constructed ethnography of a British truck manufacturing plant in many ways succeeds, as Collinson writes, in making "a theoretical and empirical contribution to the growing literature concerned with power and subjectivity in organizations." The review and critique of the literature on labor process studies, in itself, may justify the book's purchase for anyone new to, or seeking to review, this important subject.
