JAKARTA, May 3 Asia Pulse - Demand for bank loans is expected to increase in the second quarter of 2006 following a decline in the first quarter, according to a survey conducted by Bank Indonesia.
According to the survey obtained by ANTARA, the central bank predicted the demand for bank loans will rise in line with the increasing need for funds to finance business operations.
It forecast demand for new loans to jump by 75.8 per cent in the second quarter of this year due to an increasing need to have credit for funding business amid improving economic conditions.
