HONDA PHILIPPINES UNVEILS HYBRID CAR.
MANILA, May 3 Asia Pulse - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo saw for herself on Tuesday how the four-cylinder Honda Civic hybrid car works during a test drive of the new vehicle at the Kalayaan grounds of Malacaang.
The President and Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla, together with presidential son Diosdado "Dato" Arroyo and granddaughter Eva Victoria, took a brief ride on the energy-efficient and environment-friendly vehicle during the presentation of the hybrid car by officials of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc.
The hybrid car combines a gasoline-powered engine with an electric motor to provide increased gas mileage and help lower emissions. Its fuel consumption is 30 percent lower than ordinary cars.
