TAIPEI, May 3 Asia Pulse - Over half of Taiwan's CEOs responding to a recent survey are not optimistic about Taiwan's economic outlook and cross-Taiwan Strait relations are still their top concern when running a business, a CommonWealth magazine spokesman said Tuesday.
The business monthly conducted the poll of CEOs with Taiwan's top 1,000 companies from Feb. 28 to April 14 to explore their views on the nation's economic prospects, and 453 valid responses were collected.
More than 50 per cent of the respondents said that they don't feel good about developments in the domestic economy this year, while some 70 per cent said that they were also unsatisfied with last year's performance, the survey showed.
Around 71 per cent of Taiwan CEOs surveyed contend that lack of improvement in cross-strait affairs is not good for their business and they are concerned about ever fiercer competition from Chinese enterprises and shrinking profits from their core business, according to ...
