NEW DELHI, May 3 Asia Pulse - Minister of Oil and Natural Gas of India Murli Deora said here on Tuesday that the US cannot put any pressure on New Delhi on the US$7.4 billion Iran-Pakistan-India (IPI) gas pipeline project.
Speaking to IRNA before his talks with Mohammad Hadi Nejad- Hosseinian, Iran's deputy oil minister for international affairs, Deora said, "Washington has not put so far any pressure on New Delhi in this regard and it is not expected to do so in the future too.
"The US cannot dictate to a sovereign country such as India on New Delhi's relations with other nations", he emphasised. The Indian minister added that New Delhi and Tehran enjoy very cordial and outstanding relations and India is very much in need of construction of the pipeline.
