KARACHI, May 3 Asia Pulse - Pakistan and Iran have reached an agreement about the basic principles of a pricing formula for gas from Iran. The two countries have also decided to work together on the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project, regardless whether India participates in it or not.

A joint statement issued in Karachi on April 30, following the conclusion of the Seventh meeting of the Joint Working Group (JWG) of the two countries, said that the JWG had examined various financial, commercial, technical and legal aspects of the US$2.5 billion project.

" Major issues discussed included gas pricing formula, project structure, project feasibility, gas off-take volumes and gas sales and purchase agreement," the statement said.
