First-day crowds at the historic County Show - an event billed as a celebration of rural life - have delighted organisers.
Early estimates indicated that more than 10,000 people attended the event yesterday.
The 164th show, which has been staged since 1833, was being held for the first time at the Melton airfield, between the town and Great Dalby.
Andy Hardy-Smith, show co-ordinator, said: "We have had a few teething problems, but apart from that, everything has been really good.
"We just had to get used to the new site. We are up on attendance from where we were last year." The two-day event, which was continuing today, has attracted visitors from across the East Midlands.
The County Show is aimed at being a celebration of country life and the first-day crowds were able to enjoy locally-produced foods and showjumping as well as the more traditional cattle and sheep competitions.
