School event brings Empty Bowls home.(H-T ENGLEWOOD)

Last week, many Englewood-area students and their families drove to Port Charlotte to see the ceramic bowls they created in art class sold for $10 to benefit the Charlotte County Homeless Coalition.

In November, Sarasota held its own Empty Bowls fund-raiser for All Faiths Food Bank, but Englewood's Sarasota County public school, Englewood Elementary, was not involved.

Instead, the school will hold its own, smaller Empty Bowls event, and all the money raised will stay right here in Englewood.
