Making it to full professor means you've learned how to play the game. But what do women have to sacrifice in order to reach that position? What do teamwork, role playing and power have to do with eventually making it to the top?
Two women from Iowa State University discussed their work on senior women and power at the University of Nebraska's conference on Women in Educational Leadership in Lincoln in October. They were Dr. Florence Hamrick, associate professor in educational leadership and policy studies and Mimi Benjamin, coordinator of residence life for academic services and adjunct lecturer in the same department at Iowa State.
