Trade bodies discuss PPI with FSA.

Financial services trade associations including the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, the Council of Mortgage Lenders and the Building Societies Association have met the Financial Services Authority to discuss the future of the payment protection insurance market.

One insider present at the meeting tells Mortgage Strategy that all the associations feel the best way forward is to work together to implement proposed changes to the market.

The FSA says the discussions foc-ussed on compliance rather than wider competition issues, with the emphasis on consumer information rather than the sales process. The trade …
