MANATEE COUNTY -- Competition scores by two girls from McNeal Elementary added up to win the 2006 Mathematics Superstars.

Fourth- and fifth-grade mathematicians from across Manatee County competed for awards and prizes at the annual Mathematics Superstars Competition on April 6 at Manatee Technical Institute.

Mackenzie Yaryura and Carolyn Super had the top score after taking a math skills test. McNeal Elementary received the coveted traveling trophy, and the girls each won a $100 savings bond.
