By the time 16-year-old wheelchair racer Tatyana McFadden had covered the first 200 meters of a 1,600-meter race alongside able-bodied high school runners, she was in the lead. On her second trip around the 400-meter track, she began to lap the trailing runners.
When she crossed the finish line Wednesday afternoon, she was so far ahead of the pack that race officials asked her to take another lap.
