Lenders have been called on to simplify their product guides, with the number of products on offer set to double as new lenders come into the market this year.

Mortgage Brain alone registers 30,000 product schemes which includes the variations available through packagers and exclusive deals.

But with lenders such as db Mortgages and Oakwood set to enter the market this year, that number is poised to increase.
