As the world's largest owner of liquefied natural gas carriers, MISC is looking to retain its position in a more competitive market.

MISC's experience in LNG carrier operation dates back 25 years carrying cargoes for Malaysian state oil and gas firm Petronas.

These days, while Petronas is the majority shareholder of MISC, the shipping firm is in fact looking to broaden its base of business beyond its parent to third party contracts, although the bulk of the business will still come from the parent.
