It's been more than seven months since the eye of Hurricane Katrina made landfall on August 29, 2005. That day, for residents in the affected areas, marked the end of the lives they had known and the beginning of a very uncertain future. With damage estimates ranging from $40 to $200 billion, Hurricane Katrina will be recorded as the most expensive natural disaster in U.S. history to date.
