The Braves have been party to the greatest moments in home run history. They also helped launch what has become an infamous chase.
Back on June 4, 1986, Barry Bonds--then a 185-pound Pirates rookie--hit his first big-league homer in Atlanta's Fulton County Stadium, the place where Hank Aaron passed Babe Ruth in 1974. The Babe hit his 714th for the Boston Braves in 1935 against the Pirates.
Bonds needs seven home runs to pass Ruth, and wouldn't you know it, the Braves visit San Francisco the first weekend of the season. But getting to the Babe that quickly would be a stretch, even for Bonds.
