If you tuned out after Soriano grudgingly made his way to the outfield, you missed out. He lost track of two catchable balls during his first week there in spring training, though he later told reporters he was feeling more comfortable with routine flies. Soriano still is having trouble with balls hit by lefthanded batters. At least he is working at it; he has been tracking balls hit in batting practice. The move hasn't affected his offense: Soriano hit two home runs in his 11 exhibition games. That's good because the Nats got him for his bat, anyway.
