Apr. 11--Former Oklahoma State cornerback Daniel McLemore stands only a little over 5 feet, 7 inches tall, so it's easy to see why NFL scouts might have overlooked him. "The odds are against him because it is a big man's game," said Green Bay Packers scout Alonzo Highsmith, a former NFL running back. But what the NFL can't see is what's under McLemore's jersey. He wears his feelings on a T-shirt he had made after his best friend, roommate and teammate, Vernon Grant, was killed in an automobile accident in May. Under a picture of Grant on McLemore's T-shirt are the words: In loving memory of Vernon Grant.
"I know he would be right here with me," McLemore said. "I'm dedicating everything I'm doing right now to him. I'm putting him on my shoulders and carrying him with me to try to fulfill his dream, too." McLemore...
